Install Canecto on your site using Google Tag Manager

You can implement your Canecto script using Google Tag Manager in a few simple steps.You bascially implement the Canecto script in the same way in Google Tag Mangeer in the same way as you have done with similar scrips on your site. This guide will tell you how to do it in a few steps.

You can do the instalment in one minute. All you have to do is to have your Canecto Welcome mail ready, to get your Site ID. That’s it.

The two Step installation guide

Step 1: Open your welcome email

In your welcome mail from us, you will find your sites unique script.

It looks like this:

You must copy the text from you email, so you can paste it into the right place in Google Tag Manager. Please DO NO paste the above text into your WordPress site as it is only an example and will not work on your site.

Step 2: Open your Google Tag Manager

The Canecto Script needs to be installed in the header of each page on your site. The implementation of this can be done easily via Google Tag Manager.

A: Select “Custom HTML” as a new Tag type1.

B: Paste in your Canecto Code.

C: Select “All Pages” to make sure al your pages will be a part of your Canecto dataset.

What is next

Canecto starts the learning process as soon as soon as you have installed the script. When the algorithms have learned enough about your user’s behaviour, you will be able to log in to Canecto. You will receive a mail when your insights are ready. It takes on average seven days for the system to get the learning it needs.
